Baystate Medical & Surgical was founded in 1984 by Dr. Harold Wenger, MD, in an effort to provide health care organizations across the country with solutions to their medical staffing needs.

A City of Experts

Tapping into the highly-trained medical talent in the Greater Boston area, Baystate Medical & Surgical set out to help hospitals across the country connect with the highly-skilled pool of physicians in the Boston area. 

As CEO, Dr. Wenger recruited and staffed Harvard-affiliated hospitals and community hospitals from California to New York. He handled the logistics of placing medical professionals at facilities nationwide.

Today, some 20 years later, Baystate Medical & Surgical has grown into a premiere physician staffing company - the largest independent organization in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Over the years, Dr. Wenger has developed lasting relationships with physicians and administrators at hundreds of hospitals and health care organizations. Most of Baystate's clients are repeat customers who appreciate the personal service and commitment to excellence by Dr. Wenger and the staff at Baystate Medical & Surgical.
